From Using A.I to Thinking A.I First

Hey

Someone recently asked me how we move from being A.I literate to A.I enabled to becoming A.I first, and I appreciated the distinction because each stage changes our relationship with work itself.

Think of it as 100, 200 and 300 levels, where progress comes through experience, experimentation and the willingness to rethink habits that once served us well.

At the 100 level, you become A.I literate by using the tools, learning to describe the outcome you want, providing context and evaluating what comes back, until useful results become something you can reliably create.

At the 200 level, you become A.I enabled, connecting the technology to tools and systems so you can delegate a workflow, with clear instructions about what success looks like and where your oversight is needed.

At the 300 level, you become A.I first, considering its capabilities from the moment you scope a project, allowing that understanding to shape the process, the responsibilities and the possibilities you explore.

This takes time and practice, because each level asks you to develop judgment through doing. You build the confidence to imagine how work could happen differently when intelligence becomes part of its design.

Three Actionable Insights

1. Build literacy by using A.I on a real task daily and reviewing the result.

2. Practice delegation by choosing one repeatable workflow, defining success and setting clear review points.

3. Begin your next project by asking where A.I could contribute before deciding how the work happens.

Until next week...keep future rising
