The Real Divide
Hey
For decades, we’ve been told that the defining battle of society is between the rich and the poor. It’s a simple story, emotionally satisfying, and politically useful. The problem is that it misses what’s actually happening.
A more useful way to understand the world is to look at the difference between those who create value and those who primarily consume, regulate, criticize, or redistribute it. The people who move civilization forward are the builders. They start companies, write software, invent products, create art, solve problems, take risks, and turn ideas into reality. They create something that didn’t exist before.
What fascinates me is how often success is treated as evidence of wrongdoing rather than value creation. Instead of asking, “How did they build that?”, we ask “How do we take some of it?”.
This mindset matters because the future will reward creators more than ever. A.I is lowering the cost of creation, giving individuals the ability to build companies, products, media, and movements at a scale previously reserved for large organizations. The opportunity is no longer to become a better critic. It is to become a better creator.
As we move into a world of exponential technology, the most important question may not be, “How much can you consume?”, but “How much value are you creating?”.

Three Takeaways
1. Shift your focus from consuming value to creating value.
2. When you see success, study the process before being dismissive of the outcome.
3. In an A.I-powered world, creators will have more leverage than at any other point in history.
