Let’s rewind the clock a little.
In the agricultural era, your value was measured by the size of your land. The more land you had, the more crops you could grow, the more wealth you could generate. Simple.
Then came the industrial era. Efficiency became king. It was all about production: smaller costs, leaner operations, bigger profits. Again, pretty straightforward.
But now? Now we’re stepping into a very different world. A world of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and exponential change.
And in this new era—what I call the AI Quantum Era—we’ve shifted into what’s known as the attention economy.
Here’s the thing: in a world overflowing with information, the scarcest resource is no longer land or efficiency. It’s attention.
So how do you stand out? How do you capture attention in a meaningful way?
You have to be unique.
And the path to uniqueness?
That’s curiosity.
Curiosity: The Fuel for Your Fascination
If you’re not deeply curious about what you do, you won’t have the energy to keep going. You’ll burn out. You’ll fade into the background.
But if you are endlessly curious—if you’re fascinated—you’ll keep exploring, learning, and creating. That fascination becomes your fingerprint. It’s what sets you apart.
I’ve had the privilege of spending time with some of the best minds in the speaking world—people like David Averin, Michael McQueen, Richard Mulholland, Justin Cohen, Eric Kruger, David Burkus.
These friends of mine are relentlessly curious. They’re producing podcasts, videos, books, and keynote talks. They’re always digging deeper into their unique lens on the world.
And what keeps them going, year after year?
It’s not fame. It’s not money.
It’s curiosity.
Surface Area for Serendipity
In this new economy, the more you share, the more surface area you create for luck to find you.
That means publishing your thoughts. That means showing up, generously sharing what you’re learning. That means being brave enough to be seen—and trusted.
When you consistently share what fascinates you, something beautiful happens: you build trust. You attract attention—not just any attention, but the right attention.
The kind that leads to opportunities. The kind that opens doors.
And all of it is rooted in your curiosity.
Your Gift to the World
So here’s the invitation:
Find your fascination.
Feed it with curiosity.
Let it guide you to your unique genius.
Because in this age, it’s not the biggest, fastest, or most efficient that rise to the top. It’s the most authentic. The most generous. The most curious.
And when you truly live from that place, your brilliance becomes a gift to the world.
