Why Are So Many Leaders Struggling to Adapt to AI?

2025 Wrapped: Momentum, Movement, and What Comes Next

As the year draws to a close, I like to pause, not to celebrate busyness, but to reflect on direction.

2025 was a year of movement, conversation, and momentum. It included 54 talks, delivered across 33 cities, with 63 flights in between.

But those numbers only tell part of the story.

Each city represented a different context. Each audience brought its own fears, questions, and hopes about the future. Yet the themes were remarkably consistent: uncertainty, artificial intelligence, leadership fatigue, and a deep desire for clarity in a world that feels increasingly unstable.

Meaningful Milestones of 2025

Global Gurus Recognition

One of the most meaningful milestones this year was being recognised as the World’s Top 5 Futurist for 2025 by Global Gurus. Because this recognition isn’t just about me, it’s about the work we’ve been doing together: challenging old paradigms, embracing uncertainty, and shaping a future that’s brimming over with potential like never before.

Release of a New Best-Selling Book

Alongside the stages and airports, 2025 also marked the release of another new bestselling book, Expansive.

Writing, for me, is where ideas slow down enough to be interrogated. Speaking sparks insight; writing integrates it.

Expansive does just that. It transforms 250 episodes from the award-winning The Expansive podcast into 52 weekly provocations that will rewire how you think about possibility, influence, and personal transformation.

What Stood Out Most

What stood out most this year wasn’t scale, it was depth. Leaders are no longer asking, “What’s the next trend?” They’re asking, “Who do we need to become to survive what’s coming?” That shift matters. It signals a move away from surface-level transformation toward something more fundamental: adaptability, identity, and courage.

If 2025 had a thread that could be traced through every conversation, it’s this: the future is not something we prepare for in theory. It’s something we meet daily: in boardrooms, on stages, in uncomfortable conversations, and in moments of unlearning.

At my core, I believe the future isn’t something that simply happens to us, but that we need to intentionally shape it.

This wrap-up isn’t an ending. It’s a marker.

The question now is not what 2026 will bring, but how ready we are to meet it.
